Two years ago we were at Valle Nevado and last year Portillo, Chile, both wonderful trips. This year we are going to Las Leñas, Argentina as we continue our world tour of South American ski resorts. We will spend two nights in Buenos Aires when we arrive. Just like our tours and extensions in Santiago, Chile, this is always a lot of fun and a great way to relax, enjoy some sightseeing and recover from our journey to Argentina. We will then take a ninety minute early morning flight from Buenos Aires to Malargüe Airport and from there, a short transfer by coach to Las Leñas. We have a great trip package which includes all our transfers, meals, lift tickets, etc. Drinks/beverages are additional. If it’s your first time entering Argentina on your USA Passport, you will have to pay the Argentina reciprocity entrance fee, valid for the lifetime of your passport. Las Leñas, Argentina is a famous resort and for those who want to tour the best in the world, it should not be missed!

Many people consider Las Leñas the best ski resort in Argentina due to the unbeatable purity of its snow, its trails for all levels and the its outstanding off-piste descents. As a result of its dry climate, its 230 hectares of skiable surface feature a quality of snow famous worldwide. Las Leñas is the highest ski resort in Argentina. It is a paradise for extreme skiing/boarding and heli-ski, with options for beginners and intermediate skiers.

More than sixty kilometers of runs provide skiers and snowboarders with descents of varying difficulties suitable for skiers and riders of all abilities, from a height of 11,253 feet above sea level to the base at an elevation of 7,349 feet. The vertical drop of the lift-served in-bounds area of Las Lenas ski resort is a hefty 4,035 feet, with gradients ranking from 12% to 53%.

Built in 1983, Las Lenas has one of the most modern lift systems in South America. Lift lines are extremely rare at Las Lenas, since the mountain has 16 modern ski lifts that boast a total uphill capacity of 9200 skiers per hour. Lifts are named after Roman and Greek Gods: Venus, Eros, Minerva, Vesta, Vulcano, Jupiter, Apolo, Neptuno, Mercurio, Caris, Selene, Juno, Iris, Marte, Urano, and Cenidor. Lifts run nonstop from 9am to 5pm daily.
