About our Jungfrau Trip:Jungfrau, The Alps, Switzerland
Spectacular views and fascinating experiences await you! The panorama of the world-famous trio of peaks, the Eiger, the Monch and the Jungfrau, frames the car-free resorts of Wengen and Murren. Far below, the most impressive U-shaped valley in the Alps stretches out. Unforgettable excursions up the Jungfraujoch and Schilthorn are a must!

Enjoy skiing/boarding, tobogganing and touring the Jungfrau region. Visit the villages of Grindelwald, Wengen, Gimmelwald, Mürren, Lauterbrunnen, and Stechelberg. Have lunch in a village or at one of the many mountain restaurants or our favorite the Tipi! There are slopes from 9,744 feet with over 133 miles of prepared runs and 31 miles of sledging runs. The mountain contains something for everyone - from beginner to expert, both skier and boarder. It hosts the longest and oldest downhill World Cup race, the Lauberhorn. It also hosts the Inferno, the largest amateur skiing race in the world.

Base: 3,392 ft.; Vertical:. 6,888 ft.; Longest run is 9 miles. 31% beginner, 50% intermediate, and 20% advanced (much more off piste/runs). 44 lifts in Jungfrau region: 3 cable cars, 3 cogwheel trains, 2 gondolas, 16 chairs and numerous surface lifts. Lift capacity: 4400 p/h!

Visit the Jungfraujoch, (view the video - Summer) the highest railway station in Europe. A train carries you up the Eiger North Wall stopping at 2 spectacular viewing stations carved into the rock before reaching the underground summit station (Featured in the Clint Eastwood movie "The Eiger Sanction"). While there, visit the Ice Palace and see sculptures within caverns carved into the glacier. Then take an elevator up 356 feet to the top of the Sphinx Terrace with panoramic views not only of Switzerland but also Italy, France, and Germany!
Step in the shoes of Bond, James Bond, and visit the revolving restaurant Piz Gloria that was featured in the James Bond movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" and enjoy the amazing views located on top of the Schilthorn. From there descend by cable car, ski, or board.
SAMPLE EXCURSIONS:

Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe (3454 m/11'333 ft)
A great excursion for both skiers/boarders and sightseers!
Visit the Sphinx observation hall and the impressive Ice Palace inside the glacier. Travel by train inside the Eiger to Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe, where the Eiger Sanction was filmed.

Schilthorn - Piz Gloria (2970 m/9744 ft)
Another great excursion for both skiers/boarders (included in lift pass) and sightseers!
The most spectacular 360° panorama in the Alps! Wine-and-dine in the world's first high altitude revolving restaurant. Impressive views embrace some 200 snow-capped peaks, ranging from the Bernese Alps to Mont Blanc in France and Germany's Black Forest. Where "On Her majesty's secret service" was filmed!
Berne - Switzerland's Captivating Capital
Beautiful Berne is only a one-hour rail trip from Interlaken, and escorted coach tours may be booked from Interlaken Tourism. This is a city of medieval magic, listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage. Attractions include the famous Bearpits - home to Berne's heraldic animals - and excellent shopping arcades.
Luzern - City of Lights
One of Switzerland's most popular excursion destinations, lovely Lucerne is only 90 minutes' travelling time from Interlaken. The city is renowned for its attractive townscape, historic Chapel Bridge and excellent shopping facilities. Take the Brunig-Railway from Interlaken Ost.
Niederhorn (1954 m/6411 ft)
You can get there by railway, by boat, by bus, by funicular and by aerial cableway. The Niederhorn above Beatenberg is one of the most popular vantage points in the Bernese Oberland. Fine panoramic views extend from the Lakes of Thun and Brienz to the Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau.
According to Erich von Däniken, Beatenberg is the most beautiful place on earth because of its breath - taking view.

Montreux - on Lake Geneva
This attractive excursion crosses the "border" between German and French-speaking Switzerland. The trip runs from Interlaken along Lake Thun to Zweisimmen, and then by Crystal Panoramic Express to Montreux on Lake Geneva. Can be combined with wine-tasting in Switzerland's largest wine-growing region.
