- Our Sightseeing Agenda:
- Our club and some of the members on this trip have visited Rome & Florence a few times in recent years. The following is our proposed agenda, which we believe offers the best sightseeing and value. This agenda also offers free time for visiting markets and sights you discover along the way. Entrance fees, transportation and optional tour guides, if required, are at additional cost, our agenda minimizes these fees. You are welcome to tour with the group or do your own thing. Our agenda is subject to change and we welcome your input and suggestions. We will have a trip get-together before we go, to discuss the agenda in more detail.
Saturday - Arrival, check into our hotel in Rome. Visit the old city of Rome and the Colosseum.
Sunday - Hop on-off open top bus tour of Rome. 16 stops, tour all the major sites.
Monday - Roman Forum & Palatine Hill
Tuesday - Vatican City: Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica
Wednesday - Transfer to Florence by Rail and check into our hotel. Hop on-off bus tour of Florence and the surrounding area (highly recommended!).
Thursday - Morning continue bus tour. Visit Duomo of Florence, the Baptistery and Giotto's Bell tower
Friday - Pizza and Lucca excursion by rail
Saturday - Accademia Gallery (The David) & Uffizi Gallery
Sunday - Check out and return to Boston.
