It's amazing - We had a fantastic time when we visited February 2006 - many would say the best all-round trip to-date!
It's great value and has a great reputation. It offers the best combination of local sightseeing (see extra features on our agenda page), excursions, shopping, nightlife and snow sports. A great trip for mixed groups with both snow sports and sightseeing enthusiasts.
It's Austria! They follow snow sports the way we follow baseball and football. Innsbruck is the capital and heart of Austria's Tyrol snow sports region with easy access to many amazing resorts. They have an efficient lift and transportation system making it easy and enjoyable!
About Innsbruck:
Innsbruck is an ideal European ski destination and year after year
remains the number one European winter destination with Americans. This medieval city offers visitors plenty of European charm and culture, sightseeing, plus a huge variety of resourts. Nestled between peaks of the Alps with castles and cathedrals dotting the valley, Innsbruck was chosen as the site of the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympic Games. Innsbruck is the capital of Austria's Tyrol skiing region, a paradise for snow sports. From our hotel in Innsbruck, we have access to miles of skiing all accessible by our ski bus.
What to expect:
Our intent is to put together an exceptional value trip and visit multiple resorts in Austria. Transportation is included with your lift pass to all ski areas (unlike Italy). We visited Innsbruck in February 2006 and many of us think it was our best snow trip to-date! We found that the Hotel Innsbruck was the best in terms of comfort, luxury, location and amenities. We should be able to answer any questions you have.
There are a wide variety of resorts available including the world renowned Stubai Glacier (the favorite in 2006), Kitzbühel and Saint Anton resorts. You will find Innsbruck much more affordable than any place we have visited to date and in many cases souvenirs are half the cost of Italy and Switzerland. There are great excursions available and Innsbruck is a major train hub; therefore you can get trains to many cities (attractions) such as Salzburg. There are many historical sights, museums and attractions so there is plenty to do for the non-skier/boarder or on your day off from the slopes.
The best hotel when we visited in February 2005 & 2006.
Perfect location between the river and the old part of Innsbruck Town, offering nightlife, sightseeing and shopping.
Newly renovated Wellness area with indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam bath.
Additional night:
Additional night for a total of seven nights in Austria only $75 per person double occupancy! Well worth it, an extra day on the slopes (Visit Nordpark & the Alpine Zoo or go sightseeing!). Most of us are staying seven nights.

More convenient than local restaurants.
